Nature Home

Nature Home, Suphanburi 2025
A single-story residence with a usable area of 230 square meters, designed to accommodate two families living together in harmony under one roof.

The homeowner, Khun Sai, envisioned a simple, natural home made of concrete and wood—appearing like two separate houses, yet functionally unified. In response, we proposed a design that blends architectural elements from three cultural styles:

– Traditional Thai gabled houses, ideal for tropical climates with excellent ventilation
– Classic Japanese homes, emphasizing simplicity and a strong connection to nature
– Balinese vernacular architecture, known for its fluid transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces

This fusion balances out the weaknesses of each individual style while enhancing their strengths, resulting in a home that feels both timeless and regionally appropriate.

The building layout follows an L-shaped configuration, creating a central courtyard that serves as a shared activity space between the two family zones. This courtyard promotes interaction while maintaining a sense of privacy.

The carport has been thoughtfully designed for single-direction circulation, allowing for smooth vehicle entry and exit—a solution well-suited for the large site area.

Nature Home is more than just a house—it redefines the concept of shared living. It fosters closeness and independence simultaneously, offering a peaceful, natural environment where families can live together comfortably and respectfully.

“Space is empty in some contexts,

but never truly empty in others.

The architect does not design the void,

but weaves a single thread into the intricate waves of life’s unfolding story.”
