Small Hotel Design Project for Travelers 2024
Usable Area: Approximately 900 SQ.M.
Location: Along the Asian Highway (Inbound to Bangkok)

This small-scale hotel is designed to serve the needs of travelers along one of Thailand’s busiest transit routes—the Asian Highway inbound to Bangkok. With constant traffic flow throughout the day, the project was envisioned as a functional yet memorable roadside destination.

The client's brief emphasized simplicity, cost-efficiency, and a clear architectural identity. The design embraces the concept of "truth to materials", showcasing raw and honest materials such as exposed concrete, structural steel, and locally sourced wood. These elements are used without unnecessary embellishment, allowing their natural textures and tones to define the character of the building.

Form and function are carefully balanced. The layout includes essential travel amenities—a compact lobby, efficiently designed guest rooms, parking facilities, and small open-air rest zones—catering specifically to short-stay guests who are seeking comfort and ease of access during their journey.

Rather than blending into the background, the building is designed to stand out as a simple but striking architectural landmark, offering a brief moment of calm and clarity amid the movement of the highway.

This project redefines the idea of a roadside hotel—not just as a stopover, but as an architectural pause along the journey.
